had a super busy week.. thankful for a half day today.. but i've been having alot of fun at uncle yau hong's clinic.. really thankful cux it takes my mind off things and i'm earning $$ to learn nursing skills.. not that i help in his room but in terms of skills that can never be taught in the textbook, how to relate to outpatients/inpatients.. i went to fetch a patient from the ward yday and saw the removal of nasal pack.. it was interesting tho very bloody.. and it was a painful procedure.. kinda sad cux i've not been in OT and i dun dare ask.. cux uncle yau hong would be paying me to just stand and observe.. not very nice to him.. sigh..

just finished calling all my seniors.. and doing the camp booklet.. super tired.. gonna sleep.. need the energy for tmr.. gonna rush around like mad.. shall blog more another time...

i think i've really broken record this time..
slept for less than 2 hrs on mon night, abt 4 hrs on tues night, and the winner is wed night= 0hrs.. last night, i slept abt 2 hrs, woke up to study, slept for another hour plus then woke up to study again. tonight's gonna be the first night i sleep in my bed in the past few days..
sigh.. been doing PIP presentation the past few nights.. my group members sent me the stuff so late.. 40 plus slides.. have to do the animation and transition, find nice pictures, add shadow to the font, add the patient-cum-gingerbread man.. endless list..
actaully i finished doing the slides at 3 plus, then when i transferred it to this com with internet access, the whole thing disappeared.. :( but i guess i really thank God that i managed to finish the whole thing by morning.. was late for our last practice though.. but it was also due to the traffic jam..
in the end, i think my group's presentation was not as good as the rest.. not deep enough..
we lacked practice too.. cux of the booking of CRC.. we were the first to request to book the place, but then we didn't get any slots we asked for.. had some mis com with the ALCNS staff.. she thought we booked already cux the med ppl said some nursing students booked it.. but then it wasn't our group.. called them immediately to make a booking.. to block out 12-1pm the next day. i left my name there and she asked me to send an official email. then when we called her again in the evening, she told that another nursing group booked it already.. so irritating lar.. oh well..
we bought a 3kg cake for miharu and gave it to her at the end of the whole presentation.. the photos are on my multiply site.. http://ohcarolho.multiply.com/ (in the process of uploading them!)
she was super touched.. :) so sad she's leaving.. my fav lecturer.. :(:(:(

anat was quite bad for me. but i guess since i surrendered it to God, i shouldn't complain anymore. really thankful for the chance to just pray together as Christians before the test.. God gave a peace thru the whole CA.. :)
we ate subway after anat! yay! wanted to eat that on mon cux i had to buy dinner home from west mall.. but i remembered we had student discount in sch.. so i didn't wanna waste money.. haha.. was supposed to go to wing mei's hall to do our essay before crashing the world religion lecture.. but then the guys came with us, so it wasn't so nice for all of us to go there.. so we talked for another hour.. haha.. the lecture was interesting.. wanted to stay on till the end but i could not cux i had to meet wei en and cheryl.. but i guess i may take that as my elective.. hehe..

it's really by God's grace and strength that i can take it.. the rigour of this whole week.. i think i've really learnt what it means to rely on God's strength.. that His power may be manifested in my weaknesses.. i'm someone who needs ALOT of sleep.. didn't know how i would have survived if not for God's strength.. really thankful for those who prayed for me too.. and the most amazing thing is that most ppl who prayed didn't really know the busyness of my week.. :)
God has been really good to me.. even as i did my project, the old com (the one with powerpoint presentation software) did not give much prob.. though it died a couple of times.. and after my presentation is over, now it cannot even be switched on.. so many other things that happened which really showed that God is indeed in control and is so good to me..

even in the midst of all the busyness, i watched 2 movies this week.. one was during healthcare ethics and law lecture.. we watched this movie titled "Wit". death is a comma. sounds like aunty pui yeng's phrase as quoted by hong huei during the euthanasia class the other time- Death is but a comma, in the "sentence" of life. note the double meaning of sentence. but really, to us, death is just the end of our mortal life and to eternal life with God :) anyway, back to the movie. it was about this professor who has cancer and how the medical staff disregarded her dignity. not a true story of course. the doctors are not that inhumane. haha..
but i guess what struck me most was the story that her teacher read to her. it called the runaway bunny. the plot deals with a small rabbit, who is planning to run away. It's about a little bunny who tells his mother he has decided to run away. "If you run away," says his mother, "I will run after you. For you are my little bunny." She goes on to tell him that if he becomes a fish in a trout stream, she will become a fisherman and fish for him. Then he said he'll would turn into a bird. But she said that she'll turn into a tree so that he may rest on her when he gets tired and returns home. No matter what the little rabbit does, his doggedly persistent, ever-pursuing mother will not give up or go away.
"Shucks," says the bunny at last, "I might as well stay where I am and be your little bunny." "Have a carrot," his mother then says.
I guess it reminded me of how God would rentlessly pursue us when we are far from Him. and it's so comforting to know that we can find rest in Him not only in the most difficult times but all the time! that wasn't the point of the movie but i guess God spoke to me in a way i never expected Him too.. so amazing,,
the other movie was evan almighty.. watched half of it only.. cux we had PIP rehearsal.. but i was reminded of how we should just trust God no matter what the circumstances may be.. and the part when "God" told evan's wife thatt when she asks for patience, God doesn't give it to her immediately.. but it has to be grown.. sth like that..
still on the topic of God's goodness, i guess He has been supplying my every need.. in little ways even.. like allowing the bus to reach exactly the same time i reach the bus stop.. :)

well, in my tired state however, i did many stupid, unglam things.
first, i fell off the stage during practice on tues.. it was EMBARRASSING!!! but then i fell again when i was walking down the steps before our presentation but all the super BIG shots were around.
now, this is the most unglam thing that happened to me. felt so tired i fell asleep on the bus. *how unsightly* then i suddenly woke up. realised it's my stop so i jumped up and alighted (God is good. He woke me up at my stop). BUT THEN. my heel got stuck on the bus and i tripped.. thankfully i didn't fall.. but as i was walking, i felt that the slippers felt weird.. realised that when i tripped, my heel got stuck and it dropped off IN THE BUS!!!! and so, the bus just drove off with my slipper heel STILL IN IT!! that is the most unglam thing you can ever imagine..

okies.. i'm ranting.. i'm gonna sleep now.. can't tahan any longer.. *sighs contentedly*
